Ways of working in an interprofessional team

As the lack of understanding in individual roles of one another’s profession can create conflict (Brown, Lewis, Ellise, Stewart, Freeman & Kasperski, 2011), it is important to distinguish certain roles in order to effectively work together. As interprofessional teams influence a greater quality of care and outcome, it is important that we understand to work cohesively. This can be done by the introducing of roles and discussing information on providing the greatest quality of care.

Brown, J., Lewis, L., Ellis, K., Stewart, M., Freeman, T. R. & Kasperski, M. J. (2011). Conflict on interprofessional primary health care teams can it be resolved? Journal of Interprofessional Care, 25(1), 4-10. doi: 10.3109/13561820.20120.497750

The above demonstrates an interprofessional team effectively communicating in order to provide the greatest quality care possible. This can be demonstrated through collaborative work and frequent discussions on the care being delivered. http://academicmedicineblog.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/health-care-team.jpg
